The SAARP website was redesigned in 2011, and in just five months, is drawing increasing support from our members and visitors in general. Website statistics – September 2011

Website banner advertising

Rates

R150 per 1000 impressions. At current rate of pageviews, monthly cost = R763.65 per banner advert. Rates exclude VAT.

Website endorsed content / advertorial

SAARP accepts articles with content relevant to its members. Articles should be about services or issues affecting retired persons, and may reference the advertiser within the text, but content may not be specifically about the advertiser: we accept, for example, articles about drawing up a will, but not an article about the provider of such a service. A final paragraph may be about the service provider, and may have contact details and a link to the advertiser. These articles will be marked as 'advertorial'.

Advertorials are sold on a three-month contract, and the advertiser needs to provide one article per month during this period. Articles may be between 300 and 700 words, and may include a maximum of two images.

Rates

R800 per month, for a three-month contract = R2400 for three months. Rates exclude VAT.

SAARP Forum

In the last two months, SAARP has started a member-only, internet-based forum. The forum is still very young, but showing good signs of growth amongst our members as they learn their way around the forum. The forum provides a 'safe environment' in which members can interact with other senior citizens who are known to SAARP, and is, as such, trusted by our members.

Endorsed content

Endorsed content will take the form of an 'endorsed expert' posting short articles on a particular subject (eg. health or finance) on the forum, and answering all comments or posts in response. The advertiser may include their contact details in all posts. Allowed posts are unlimited for the period of the endorsement, which is three months.

Rates

R600 per month, for a three-month contract = R1800 for three months. Rates exclude VAT.

Banner advertising will be introduced to the forum within the next month or two.

Monthly newsletters

SAARP sends out a monthly newsletter in English to 5 865 members, and in Afrikaans to 1 349 members. The newsletter is kept deliberately free of images for those with limited downloading capacity. SAARP accepts endorsed content / advertorials for these newsletters. Articles should be about services or issues affecting retired persons, and may reference the advertiser within the text, but content may not be specifically about the advertiser: we accept, for example, articles about drawing up a will, but not an article about the provider of such a service. The advertiser's contact details, as well as a link to the advertiser, may follow the article. These articles will be marked as 'advertorial'. Advertorials are sold on a per-month basis, and the advertiser needs to provide one article, in English and Afrikaans, for the monthly newsletter. Newsletters are distributed between the 20th and 25th of each month. Articles may be between 150 and 250 words, including contact details.

Rates

R600 per month (limited to one article per advertiser per month). Rates exclude VAT.

Database marketing

SAARP accepts e-mail based mailshots to its database of 7 214 people (5865 English and 1 349 Afrikaans). The e-mails are sent by SAARP, from a recognised SAARP e-mail address. Mailshots should not be more than 100kb in size.

Rates

R300 admin fee + R1.20 per e-mail address for mailshots provided as ready to send html documents.

Design and setup services are provided at a fee of between R500 and R1500, depending on the requirements of the advertiser.

Advertising terms and conditions

Advertisements are accepted for publication by SAARP subject to the following conditions:

• SAARP reserves the right to withhold any advertisement from publication and to cancel any advertisement order that has been accepted.
• Telephonic instructions must in all cases be confirmed in writing by the advertiser.
• All cancellations must be in writing.
• Every precaution is taken to ensure the correct printing and insertion of all advertisements, but SAARP will not be held liable for any inaccuracies or omissions or for any consequence arising from these.
• SAARP reserves the right to edit, revise or reject, even after acceptance for publication, any advertisement deemed to be untruthful or objectionable in subject matter or wording, or unsuitable for any other reason.
• The advertiser indemnifies SAARP against any claim by any third party arising out of the design, form, content, copyright infringement or other attributions of the advertisement.
