SAARP believes that senior citizens are entitled to a secure and rewarding existence in line with the highest moral principles of mankind. We work with vigour to enrich lives, raise self-esteem and influence society to support these ideals.
If you are NOT receiving your e-mail SAARP newsletter each month, there could be a few reasons for this. Take these steps below to sort out the problem.
We added all our members with e-mail addresses to the SAARP newsletter database at the time of starting the new format e-newsletter. However, we may not have had an e-mail address for you at the time. You would then not have been added to the database. This is easy to remedy. Simply go to this link and sign up for the newsletter. This will not affect your SAARP membership details, but will place you on our e-mail database. If you are not sure whether you have subscribed or not, subscribe anyway – you will not receive duplicate e-mails at the same address. The system sends only one e-mail to any one e-mail address.
When you subscribe using the link above, double-check the e-mail address that you enter. Every dot and space needs to be correct. We have thousands of e-mail addresses on our database, and we cannot check (and guess the correct format!) for each one. We have recently found an e-mail address that was @iafica rather than @iafrica – just that one letter missing means that you will not receive your newsletter.
We had 101 'bounces' from our last newsletter. These are newsletters that are not delivered due to the following reasons reported by our server:
Mailbox is full (check that your mailbox is not full, or your allocated space on your mail server is not over its limit).
Receiving server is down / Error on receiving server. In such a case, you will remain on the database, and may well receive the next newsletter if the server error is temporary.
Email address does not exist or has been cancelled. In this case, the e-mail address we have for you is definitely not current, or is incorrect. These e-mail addresses are removed from the database after two such reports.
If you are not receiving your newsletters, one of these may be your problem. Check that your mailbox is not full, and, if you suspect that we have an incorrect e-mail address for you, please subscribe again to the newsletter.
There are settings on your own computer which may be stopping the e-mail from being delivered to you. In cases such as this, our system reports that your e-mail has been 'delivered', because it has been delivered to your receiving server. The settings on your own computer, however, may be stopping the e-mail at this point and not allowing it to be delivered to your inbox. If you log onto your mail server via the internet, you may well find your newsletter sitting there.
As we send out thousands of e-mails at one time, some systems see this as 'spam' or 'junk mail'. All SAARP e-mail newsletters are sent from the e-mail address info@saarp.co.za
Add this e-mail address to your 'safe-sender's' list, or mark it as NOT SPAM or NOT JUNK in the virus software that you are using.
If you receive your e-mails through a company e-mail system, your company firewall or protection software may be stopping the mail. Ask your IT person to allow e-mails from info@saarp.co.za through to you.
We certainly hope that from our side and yours, we are able to deliver a newsletter to your inbox each month, as the newsletters contain interesting and valuable information for our members.
