SAARP Bulletin

SAARP Bulletin - latest copy: September 2011

Our main printed communication vehicle to members is our Bulletin. It is issued in April and September and is in full colour A4 format. Through the Bulletin, we aim to keep members updated with the latest and greatest happenings on the retiree front. The latest Bulletin can be found above.

We try to ensure that the content is as topical as possible with the inevitable adverts that subsidise some of the printing costs. These focus on products and events forming part of the everyday lives and interests of our members. Naturally there is still a substantial cost factor involved in producing this type of Bulletin, and especially in distributing it (we all know what postage costs today) but we believe it is worth while for our members and we will continue with this effort.

We request members who wish to receive the printed bulletin to make an annual R30-00 donation towards the postage costs.

The popularity and necessity of this type of communication with members is aptly illustrated when one thinks of the AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) that distributes what is possibly the largest circulation magazine in the world – 10 issues per annum to over 35 million members world wide.

Our members are also amongst the most loyal members of any organisation judged upon feedback received from advertisers on the response percentages to advertisements placed. Thank you for supporting those organisations that support us financially. We value and are proud of your loyalty which enables us to do more and more for you.

We should also state here that our policy is one of encouraging our members to support us only when they are financially advantaged and in this way we are able to measure the value for money packages and products which we have negotiated for members.
