Cruise the Russian waterways
on the MS Furmanov - Moscow to St Petersburg

Experience the real Russia on a relaxing river cruise on the mighty River Volga from Moscow to St Petersburg, with some fascinating stops on the way. Both cities are explored in depth, with two full days to explore Moscow, and St Petersburg. There is a full programme of excursions throughout. The journey between the two mighty cities takes in some of Russia's historic so-called 'Golden Ring' towns - many of which pre-date Moscow and St Petersburg. You'll also stop off at a number of villages on the journey, giving you a taste of life in Russia away from the hustle and bustle of the two primary cities.
The MS Furmanov is a modern river cruise ship built in Germany in 1985. It was extensively renovated in 1995, and furnished with carpeting and furniture imported from the USA and Finland. With its elegant restaurant, lavish public room decor, three tastefully furnished lounges and a splendid concert hall, the Furmanov resembles an exclusive 4-star Western hotel, and is considered to be one of the best big river cruise ship in Russia.
Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1 - Moscow Embarkation
Arrival transfer and embarkation to the M/S Furmanov with the evening at leisure to enjoy your first night aboard the ship.
Day 2 – Moscow
Begin your exploration of Russia's magnificent capital this morning with a tour which includes Red Square, St Basils Cathedral, the Sparrow Hills and the Moscow Metro.
Day 3 – Moscow
Tour of the Kremlin today visiting its main churches and cathedrals as well the Armoury museum, home to the famous Faberge Eggs.
Day 4 – Uglich
Arrive in the historic merchant town of Uglich today where you take an excursion to some of the town's most beautiful churches and cathedrals.
Day 5 – Goritsy
You spend some time exploring the rural settlement of Goritsy today with an excursion to the Monastery of St Cyril and its icon museum.
Day 6 – Kizhi
Visit Kizhi Island today, home to some of Russia's most spectacular wooden architecture including the fairytale Church of the Intersession.
Day 7 – Mandrogi
Visit the small Russian village of Mandrogi today where you spend some time at leisure exploring the settlement and perhaps visiting the local vodka museum.
Day 8 - St Petersburg
Arrival in St Petersburg. City tour of St Petersburg including a visit to the Peter & Paul Fortress.
Day 9 - St Petersburg
Sightseeing excursion to the Hermitage. Afternoon at leisure.
Day 10 - St Petersburg Disembark
Disembark this morning with your departure transfer to the airport or your next destination.
